Go Confidently in the Direction of your Dreams!

I was blog hopping the other day and stopped by Creative Scrappers.  They had posted Sketch #164 which I thought was such a good example of  less is more!

I created the below LO from this sketch:
This was Temple's first year on the swim team and she totally loved it.  The season ended yesterday with the Championships.  Temple finished this season landing somewhere in the middle of the pack of the 8yr olds and under.  She said she definitely will continue with this next year.  We've spoken with one of the assistant coaches who agreed to give Temple private lessons next month--she is looking forward to it!

Here are a few closeups:
No matter how many times I stamp, I rarely if ever get my stamping right!

Ms Diva!

Once again, I share with you a LO I did of Temple!  On one of our trips to Disney, she persistently asked for a Disney dress (ie, costume!), and I kept telling her no - 1) because she grows so much and so quickly that I think it's a waste of money, and 2) because she would wear it a couple of times before moving on to the next thing.  I told her that she could get shorts or a t-shirt, you know something that she'll get some wear out of before she outgrows it.  We went into one of the shops that sells Disney clothes and she found the sundress that she's wearing in the picture.  Not only is it cute (and practical!), she loves the dress, so she wears it!  This is a perfect example of  "Mother Knows Best!"

Saturday Share

Hello!  I hope you are well!  I've been doing a little scrapping this week.  As usual I created a LO of my favorite subject, Temple!  It's hard to see the name of this LO--it's Sweet Cupcake.
This is a picture I took of Temple a few months ago when we visited the Kennedy Space Center.  She's wearing her father's hat.  I also photoshopped the photo to give it that retro look to go with the hat!
Here are some closeups:

The above is a Stampin' up punch.

Some Stuff!

Hello!!!  I know I've been gone for a very long while.  My first issue was my extremely demanding job, which has now been taken care of--I resigned!  My last 2 weeks were the longest 2 weeks I had to live through, but I am proud to say, effective July 1st, I am now a stay-at-home-Mom!!!  And if you ask Temple, she'll tell you it's the best job Mommy has ever had.  My job kept me so stressed out and tired that I wasn't doing much scrapbooking.  I did manage to do these projects over the past few weeks:
Charles grilled us up some lobster and shrimp kabobs a couple of weeks ago and Temple grabbed my camera and took pictures.
We visited Kennedy Space Center earlier this year and what a fun time we had.  I used my June Studio Calico Kit to create this double page which was perfect for this LO.
Finally, I wanted to share with you the Father's Day Card I made for Charles which was from both Temple and me!  Temple was so funny when she signed the card because she signed her full name!  Charles laughed and exclaimed, "as if I didn't know who she is!"

I won't stay away so long again!

ARTastic's New June Challenge

This month's inspiration comes from the painting, Argenteuil, by Edouard Manet

Diva Demand for 6 additional points:
1) 2 people in photo - 1 pt
2) use striped PP - 2 pts
3) include a boat somewhere on the LO - 3 pts

Here's my LO:

Open up my scrapbooks and they are filled with LO after LO of my DD, Temple, so it was nice to do one of Charles and me!  I got the paper-piecing pattern for the boat from Scrapbooks, etc.
I must also acknowledge Temple's photography skills as she took this picture of Charles and me!

Make sure you make your way to ARTastic and join in on the challenge!

Water Babe!

We were down in Daytona Beach a couple of weeks ago, and of course I took pictures of Temple!  She's on the swim team this year and out of all of the sports activities we've had her in over the years, I think she's found her sport.  The team will have their first competition on June 11th, and Coach Kate has the team perfecting their freestyle technique.  They've also started to learn the breast stroke and the back stroke.  It amazes me how Temple just zips through the water!!!

I digress!  Here's my digi layout of her at Daytona Beach:

Temple's First Communion

Temple finished her 2 years of sacramental classes and finally participated in her First Communion along with 19 of her fellow Sacramental Classmates!  It was a joyous time for us!
That's Grandma Arvis in the picture with us!

Screen to Scrap May Challenge

I joined in on this month's challenge over at From Screen to Scrap.  Inspiration is from the movie poster, Love Actually.

For an extra 6 bonus points, your LO should include
1) A red bow
2) A journaling note
3) Add names to the people in your photos
Here is my LO based on the criteria:

I pretty much kept this LO quite simple--I just wanted to focus on the photos of my family.  I also drew the 'Love' on cardstock, cut it out and painted each letter with red acrylic water paint.  I also cut the journaling tag out on my Cricut.
