My Practical Scrappers Stamping LO

I am running a bit behind this week--this was my first full week back at work after being on medical leave for 6 weeks, so please bear with me while I catch you up!

So here's my LO and card that I did:
Here is the LO:
I kept the LO simple to focus on the stamping background.

Some detail:

My other stamping technique was to stamp the butterfly on the LO with glue and sprinkle with glitter.
Here is my card:

I used the same stamp on the card that I used on the LO.  I first saturated my cardstock with water and I scrunched it, unfolded and then scrunched again.  I did that until I was satisfied with the result.  I then smoothed out the cardstock and ironed it dry.
I stamped 2 butterflies, cut them out and layered one on top of the other with foam dots--I just wanted to give it some depth.

I stamped my sentiment on the cardstock and tore around it to glue onto my card.

Practical Scrappers - Flowers!

O.K., just shoot me--here it is Wednesday and I'm just now posting the Challenge over at Practical Scrappers!  This week's challenge is Flowers!

It's cold and there's snow in 49 states - it's definitely time for a break from winter.  This week PS wants you to use up your flower supplies - you can make your own, use some primas, put a creative twist on a different supply to make flowers - whatever you'd like!

3 Winners will be chosen - (1) the most creative use of flowers; (2) the project that uses the most flowers (leave us a comment so we know); and (3) again our favorite project! We will also be picking one winner randomly generated to get some bling from Glitz Design!

What a fun Challenge this week--go on over and check out what the DT has done to inspire you, and don't forget to inspire us as well with your project!

Remember to check back with me tomorrow to see my LO!

A Digi Layout

I had more pics of Temple after her shower that I decided to do a digi LO.  We were away at DisneyWorld this weekend and this is when I'll usually do digi-layouts, so I did this one last night when we were back at the hotel.
Digi layouts do help my creative itch when I can't get to do traditional scrapbooking.  TFL!

Artastic February Challenge

This month's inspiration for February's challenge at Artastic was this wonderful piece by Mary Cassatt.  Some have called it "The Bath" but from what I found, this piece actually has no title.
This is a beautiful painting and I just loved the soft colors used by the artist.  I didn't quite use these colors in my LO because I'm not really a pastelly sort of girl ;D.  I did, however, tried to capture the victorian look of the piece in my LO.  As shabby chic is not my style, I'm not sure I pulled it off but I'll still share this LO with you!
Here are some details:
I did a lot of chalking around the edges and I got to use these pretty pearls.
The lace was originally white and I sprayed it with emerald sprinkle SmootchSPRITZ.  I did some stamping and used some great cardstock stickers by Pebbles.
My journaling explains what I mentioned earlier in this post about Temple being a shower girl.
I absolutely loved making these paper flowers and I don't know why I don't do it more often (I think I've only made them once).  I cut out the circles and then I sprayed them with Glimmer Mists and the Smootch spritz.  I then balled them up and spread them back out.  I used my trustee Stickles around the edges of each petal and when the Stickles dried I assembled the flowers and added the centers.

This LO totally took me out of my comfort zone but we need to do that from time to time just to keep our creative juices flowing--don't you think so too!

Thanks for stopping by!
Best regards and Happy Scrapping!

Practical Scrappers - Brads

This week's challenge over at Practical Scrappers is Brads!

Brads are standard - we've all got 'em and we all use 'em! This week, there will be a winner chosen who uses the most brads on their project, (you must leave a comment with the number of brads you used to be considered).  There will also be a winner chosen for the most creative use of brads, and a winner for our favorite project.  Make sure to go and join in on the fun--we look forward to seeing what you come up with!

It's Sketch Friday at Practical Scrappers!

Our sketch this week is provided by our talented Ann-Katrin:

For this sketch and for a change of pace, I decided to do a digi-layout!
These pics were taken last Spring which at this point in time, I am longing for!  We'd spent a great day in the park!  Make sure to stop by Practical Scrappers to see the wonderful LOs done by my fellow DT members!

You Make Me Smile

It's Week 4 Challenge over at Tellen's Place and what an interesting challenge--you had to pick 3 in a row from this chart to use in your project--brilliant, huh!!!
I chose the middle vertical row:  Ribbon, Punch, Buttons.  That made it easy to design my card--and this is what I came up with:
Here is a side view:

Okay, there's my big yellow ribbon, my flower punch and pink button center!!!  You like that digi image???  Well, I won it and some other cool images over at Tellen's Place for my Valentine's Card submission a couple of weeks ago!!!  Make sure you stop over and get in on the fun!!!

Happy Scrapping!

It's Thursday and I'm Up!

As you know, this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers is to use a die cut machine.   Well', here is my layout:
I had so much fun creating this LO!  I used my Cricut Create "Walk in My Garden" cartridge to create the butterfiles, small flowers and title.  I also used my Sizzix Big Kick to create the large flower in the journaling box.  I really don't pull my die cut machines out as much as I should--the results always turn out to be worth it!

Best regards and Happy Scrapping!
