Temple's New Skirt

Temple and Charles took pictures of her wearing her new skirt this morning (which she picked out all by herself yesterday when Charles took her shopping). My poor child continues to grow out of everything in a matter of weeks!!! At six years old, she is now wearing a size 12! Yes, the skirt is a size 12! How much more growing could she possibly do??? Oh, I digress--they took pictures of her this morning because I had to leave before she was dressed and they didn't want me to miss out!

This is a digi LO that I made with Shabby Princess' Festival Collection. I learned a new technique in PSE7 and that is the scalloped edge that I created in the LO--I was quite excited!!!TFL and Happy Scrapping!

Coco Love

Please meet Coco! This is my mother-in-law's very special doggie! You will not meet a sweeter dog. This is a digital layout and I am working on an album on Coco, but it's taking me longer than I'd expected it to.

At any rate, is she not the cutest little thing???
And a note to my MIL--Mom, I will finish your album soon!

Best regards and thanks for looking!

Layout to Go!

I was playing around with my PSE7 program the other day and did this to one of Temple's pictures. What is "did this?" you ask, well I'm not quite sure. The next time I'm fiddling with PSE7 I'll pay more attention. But I found this so striking that I printed it out and then tried to figure out what I'd do with it. Well, I decided that I could do a layout with it just like I would do a LO with a regular photo. This is my result. As you can see, it's a very simple LO (done in about 20 minutes), but with this pic, I really needed it to be the focus, so elaborate embellies were not required.

This is a LO to go because our friend Valerie invited us to rough it today at Camp Jellystone!!! She'd rented a cabin and asked us to tag along. I couldn't go a whole weekend day without my scrappy fix so I put this together this morning.

Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping!

What I Know...

I know:
  1. That today is Friday -- for sure!
  2. That I can sleep in tomorrow morning!
  3. Being annoyed about the small things should be fleeting!
  4. Loving this moment right now is big!
  5. Making peace with stuff in your past will add days to your future!

Have a wonderful and Blessed day and remember Life is Scrappy Good!

Scrappy Life's Lesson

O.K., I just visited Peachy Cheap like I do just about every day because I just love the deals. I got very excited about today's deal which was a sealed wax kit (about $8). She showed examples of its use on cards and layouts. I got excited--a new technique to try. Well, I went to click on to "buy" and my hopes were completely dashed because at 11:00am they were already sold out. The lesson here, when it comes to Peachy Cheap shop very, very early!

Studio Calico - Sneak Peak

I was visiting Studio Calico tonight and I must say I am getting excited about the new kit that's coming out in about 2 hours (actually at midnight). They have a sneak peak of 2 kits that will debut at midnight and if you post a comment about which kit you like, you could win $10 off your next purchase http://studiocalico.blogspot.com. While you're over there have a look at their gallery. They have a wonderful bunch of members who are doing phenominal layouts. I gotta go now!

Sunday comes too quickly!

What a busy weekend we had and as usual, it's over way too soon! Temple had a dental appt. on Saturday (and terrible mother that I am, it was her first visit in almost 3 years). Sad to say, I know but luckily everything was fine but she did need sealants on 4 of her teeth. Temple and I also stopped by Joann's because I needed to pick up this kit for a new project I'll be starting soon. I was asked by the wonderful ladies that I work with to make a baby album for our co-worker, Steve (who I spoke about earlier--the one who had emergency surgery) and his wife for their new little boy that they are expecting any day now.I'd seen this kit by Debbie Mumm at Joann's and decided I'd use it to make the album. O.K., I am also totally in love with the sheep theme! Look out for the completed album.

Last night, we also went to a barbecue at our good friends house. As usual, I ate too much and had my share of margaritas but that's what you're supposed to do at a barbecue, right! Today, I cleaned bathrooms and then I finally had some time to do a layout.

Over at JuJuBees Scrapbook Corner, Julia posted a challenge based on Julie Bonner's 52Sketches...52 Weeks sketch. I was glad to see it because I'd missed the week Julie posted this sketch because I was participating in the Got Sketch 104 class. So I got to do it anyway!
I finally tried my hand at making these paper flowers, and after a few tries, I got the hang of it.
I love sparkle and was happy to use this lovely crystal flourish.
I added more bling with Stickles above and got to use this fun butterfly below.
I broke out the sewing machine and added stitching as well.
Well, it's time to go to sleep. Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping!
Best regards, Robin

Refreshing

Here is a layout that I just finished based on 52 Sketches...52Weeks sketch #27 (I just posted this LO there). Over the past 6 months or so, I have become a fan of sketches. In providing a basic layout, it leaves more time for creativity! We had a great July 4th and spent it at the beach, you know the new beach I've raved about in earlier posts, Crescent Beach!

It was an incredibly hot day but the water was cool!
I once again used PSE7 to add my title and journaling to the picture itself.

Get Well Card

A co-worker of mine recently underwent major surgery on an emergency basis. He is home and is recovering and is expected to continue to recuperate over the next 4 weeks. Everyone at the office has been sending him get well cards (among some other things we have done for him and his family), as they are also expecting their first child any day now. I, of course, made my card and will mail it in the morning.
We are all wishing for Steve and his family a very speedy recovery and best wishes to the new parents-to-be.

I Never Did Post Sketch #4

I know you've seen these pictures before on the photo cube that I made for Charles, but it was still a timely layout for the golf pictures that I took.
I tried my hand at paper piecing with the flower sun on the left side of the layout. It was interesting enough for me to try it again.
Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping!

Got Sketch 104 - Sketch #6

I wasn't feeling well yesterday and spent most of my day in bed, but I still wanted to get another Got Sketch 104 layout done, so I did a digital layout. Yes, I kicked and screamed through PSE7 once again and I still feel I have not even scratched the surface of this program, but I got the layout done.

We spent last Saturday at a new beach we discovered called Crescent Beach which is in the St. Augustine, FL area. We can drive our car right onto the sand which greatly helped with unloading and loading our SUV. Though she's not in the layout, my mother-in-law joined us for this fun beach day!
