Fabric Albums

I was checking out a feature that Scrap Scene covered on Fabric Albums. Following the links led me to Donna Downey's blog site where she featured this album.
Is this not one of the prettiest things you've seen.
The doorknob hardware is just fabulous, and the fabrics used are just beautiful!
I have a sewing room full of fabric that I could really put to good use. I am adding Donna's Fabric Scrapbooking to my books-to-buy list and I'm definitely going to give the fabric album a try. I think it's adorable!Once again, it's time to say good night!
Best regards and Happy Scrapping!

Got Sketch 104 Chat Tonight

We had a lovely time in the Got Sketch 104 Chat Room this evening. It was really nice to add personalities to names! We only have one more week left for classes. It's going by fast. I really did learn a lot -- I've got a starter album of sketches and tips. I can't wait for Got Sketch 105!!!

Got Sketch 104 - Sketch #5

I think I am missing a sketch (#4?). I will take a look but I have Sketch #5 ready which I just posted this evening. I love taking pictures of nature - flowers, trees. They are the most beautiful things in God's plan! Well we were challenged to do a double-page spread and I immediately thought of all the nature pictures I take, so this was a perfect opportunity to do a LO on one of my favorite things!
I rarely do double-page spreads so this was a bit of a strech for me which is good! It helps sometime to get outside your comfort zone. Here is my take on the sketch:
I tried something new on my flower in the upper left corner. I added charms to a safety pin and then pinned it on top of my flowers. I do like the result. Take a look:
I could not resist adding a picture of Temple to this layout. I love the comparison between how small she looks compared to how big the old trees look!
Well, once again I am fading fast. So I thank you for looking and Happy Scrapping! Best regards, Robin

Explosion Page for Mother!

Here is a fun explosion page that I did for my Mother to remember her annual trip here in Florida to visit my sister and me and our families. Mother hasn't seen it yet (and I'm sure she's forgotten that I was making it for her)! I will be mailing it off to New York soon!!!

Above is the front of the page:

Above is the back. Below is the page opened out (this is one side):

This is the other side of the page:

Below is a collage of the front and back of the explosion page! This is a fun and quick project to make and it helps to use up many of your scraps. Thanks so much for looking and Happy Scrapping!
Best Regards, Robin

Let's Give Michael a Moment

As hard as it is to believe, an American Icon is gone. Michael Jackson was only 50 years old and was my idol for a better part of my childhood. He made some great music that I'm sure we will be listening to for a long time to come. A moment of silence in respect of the greatness that was Michael Jackson.

Got Sketch 104 - Sketch #2

I've posted my sketch #2 for Got Sketch 104. I realized that I started scrapping when Temple was 5yrs old and I never went back and did any LOs of her before that time. Sketch #2 from Got Sketch 104 provided the perfect opportunity to rectify it! The pictures used in the LO span Temple's life from newborn, just 6 hours old to her first birthday at 12 months old. I so forgot what a cutie patootie she was way :) back then!!

I know, I didn't use the traditional pastel colors but I really liked the paper choices and decided to go with it!
Best regards and Happy Scrapping!

Got Sketch 104

I am taking the Got Sketch 104 series of classes! It's a 3-week series and I am so excited with the sketch inspirations so far. O.K. we are only on Sketch #2 but they are really great and easy to follow or make your own.

It's great to see everyone's take on the same sketch. I am soaking up all of the tips/inspiration I am getting from viewing them all!

Best regards and Happy Scrapping!

Lovin' the Digital Scrapbooking!

I have to admit that I am loving the digi-scrapbooking. I think I am liking it more now that I can better maneuver my way around PSE7. My passion is still traditional scrapbooking but this is another great way to create. Here are two more LOs that I created in PSE7!

"Little Woman"

I have been practicing my digital scrapbooking and this is one of Temple that I finished yesterday! I am beginning to like digital scrapbooking but it will never take the place of traditional scrapbooking for me. It does provide a nice break (sort of using different brain cells to create while still using the same brain cells to create! Crazy, huh?

Here is a LO that I did of Temple and one of her best friends, Tatiana. Temple and Tatiana had a sleepover this weekend at our home. These girls get along famously--never any drama, just good friendship.
